YAVAPAI SILENT WITNESS OFFERING UP TO $11,000 REWARD FOR ARREST OF SUSPECT IN OFFICER SHOOTING

SILENT WITNESS ALERT: REWARD OFFERED IN THE YAVAPAI APACHE POLICE OFFICER SHOOTING INCREASED.

On February 9, 2022, a suspect shot and seriously injured Sergeant Preston Brogdon of the  Yavapai Apache Police Department in the Camp Verde area while he was performing his duties protecting his community. The suspect is still at large. Due to overwhelming support from the community, Yavapai Silent Witness is now offering up to an $11,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.

An event like this rocks a community. When one of our peacekeepers is viciously attacked like this, we as a community must come together and aid law enforcement with any information that can get these violent criminals off our streets. In doing so, we send a message to these violent offenders that there is no place to hide, and equally important we send a message to our law

Yavapai Silent Witness is offering up to a $10,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest or arrests in the case of the Yavapai Apache Police officer who was shot at the Tunli housing area on the Yavapai Apache Indian Reservation at around 7:30 pm last evening. 

To earn your reward if an arrest is made, you must call Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232 or submit a tip at www.yavapaisw.com. All tips are anonymous. You never have to give your name. 

In addition, the FBI Phoenix division has identified a person of interest in the incident and are asking the public’s assistance in locating Valentin Rodriguez who may have further information on the shooting. 

Valentin Rodriguez, 39, is a Hispanic male, 5’9”, about 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He may be a member of or connected to the Yavapai Apache tribe in Camp Verde, AZ. Anyone with information about Rodriguez’s whereabouts is asked to contact the FBI Phoenix Field Office at  (623)466-1999.

Fundraising efforts are also underway for the officer’s family. If you would like to make a donation, you can send checks, money orders/cashier’s checks or bring cash to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office. All checks must be made out to YCSO Employee Fund with Benevolence Fund: in honor of officer Brogdon written on the memo line. These funds can be mailed to or brought to 255 E. Gurley St., Prescott, AZ 86301.
