Yavapai Baseball Set For Saturday Matchup With South Mountain
The No. 13-ranked Yavapai College baseball team heads down to the valley on Saturday afternoon for an ACCAC doubleheader against the South Mountain Community College Cougars. First pitch for game one is set for noon and live streaming and live stats will be available on GoRoughriders.com/Live.
The Cougars
South Mountain is off to a 10-8 start this season with a 3-3 mark in conference play. Last time out, the Cougars split with Central Arizona.

The Roughriders
Yavapai comes into its weekend doubleheader with the Cougars with an overall record of 7-6-1 and a conference record of 1-3. At the plate, the Roughriders boast seven hitters with batting averages above .300: Ben Zeigler (.455), Kade York (.395), Amari Bartee (.390), Ryland Zaborowski (.379), Rocco Gump (.357), Alex Ulloa (.324) and Ethan Thomas (.313).
On the mound, three Roughrider pitchers own ERAs under 3.00 with over six innings pitched: Ethan Bell (2.84), Tyler Davis (1.50) and Nathan Ward (1.47).
Player To Watch
Redshirt-sophomore outfielder Amari Bartee is currently riding a five-game hitting streak with four of those games being multi-hit efforts.
One Last Thing
The Roughriders and Cougars previously matched up this season in the 2022 Zinger Bat Invitational with South Mountain emerging victorious 15-4, despite Roughrider pitching only surrendering three earned runs.
