Yavapai Softball Secures Second Seed, Faces Snead State To Open NJCAA Softball Championship
The NJCAA Division I Softball Championship Bracket has been revealed and the Yavapai College softball team has its seed and first opponent. Seeded No. 2 in the tournament, the Roughriders will start their tournament off with a matchup against the No. 15 seed: the Snead State Community College Parsons.
The Roughriders and Parsons will square off on Tuesday, May 24, at 6 p.m. on Field #6 of the Pacific Avenue Athletic Complex in Yuma, Arizona.
Snead State Community College
The Parsons, hailing from Boaz, Alabama, are 36-25 overall and went 20-9 in the ACCC (Alabama Community College Conference). Following its loss in the ACCC Tournament, Snead State emerged victorious in the Mid-Atlantic District Tournament to clinch a spot in the NJCAA Division I Softball Tournament.
Yavapai College
The Roughriders are 54-4 overall and went 42-2 in ACCAC contests this season. Yavapai earned the West District Championship by winning the NJCAA Division I Region I Tournament on its home field to secure a berth in the NJCAA Division I Softball Tournament. In addition, the Roughriders took home the ACCAC Championship in 2022.
