With new amenities and live racing scheduled twice a week through September, general manager Mike Weiss said he is excited to get fans back out to the track.

“Mondays and Saturdays through September 5th, fans will be able to enjoy live racing events at Arizona Downs,” he said. “We spent the off-season getting ready. I am sure everyone that comes out will be thrilled with the additions as the action begins Saturday.”

Weiss said special activities will mark the event along with nine races on opening day.

Gates open at 10 a.m.

Post time is 1:45 p.m., and Truly Reckless will perform driving pop music live during the day, beginning at 3 p.m.

The first 600 attendees will also receive a pair of Caesar’s glasses.

“Along with the track’s grand opening, it is also the grand opening of Caesar’s Sportsbook,” Weiss said. The system gives our guests access to a premier betting system making the action all that more exciting,” Weiss said. “So, we are giving away 600 pairs of “Golden Glasses” to mark the event.”

While physical improvements to the track include upgrades to the surface and the addition of moisture controls, new exotic wagers also promise to create excitement as well.

“With the new and exciting wagers we have put in place for this year, the fun is going to be over the top,” Weiss said. “Never before have our guests had access to as many betting options and services as they will in the 2022 season. It is sure to be a great new year at Arizona Downs.”

As the summer heats up, he said the track is also ready to ramp up, bringing in more live racing weekly.

As the summer continues, a third day of live racing is planned for Tuesdays during August.

“We wanted to give our fans as many opportunities to enjoy the grounds as possible this summer,” Weiss said. “Adding in a third race day each week in August gives another day to come down and enjoy the facility, the activities and the racing.”

Located in the heart of scenic Prescott Valley, Arizona Downs’ summer racing season includes live Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing. Nine races are scheduled this Saturday, June 25th, opening day.

The facility incorporates a mile-long racetrack alongside spacious venue features, including concession stands, a restaurant and bar with scenic 360-degree views, more than 150 in-house TV screens and mutuel and self-bet machines. A full buffet is also offered on live race days.

The racetrack is also open for simulcast wagering daily at 9 a.m., with a deli and full bar available throughout the day.

“It’s going to be an amazing year, and I hope area residents make it down this Saturday to see the improvements, listen to some great live music, check out the family-friendly fun and most importantly, support their local horse racing track by watching some of the finest animals and trainers come together in the spirit of competition and fun.”
