ST. PATRICK’S DAY ENFORCEMENT – DON’T DRIVE “SHAMROCKED”

Contact info: Jerry Ferguson #261 / PIO

Office: Phone Number or Dispatch 928-772-9267

The Prescott Valley Police Department, in partnership with the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, wishes everyone to have safe, sober St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. To help keep the community safe, the Prescott Valley Police Department Traffic Unit will be working extended hours on Monday and Tuesday, March 16 & 17, 2020. A DUI Command Post will also be in operation on March 17th at the Prescott Courthouse. The officers will be enforcing a variety of traffic violations including speed, seat belts, and Driver Impairment.

If you are going to celebrate by drinking alcoholic beverages, consider staying at home. If you’re going to be out in the community, be sure and have a designated driver to get you home safely (Uber, Lyft, etc.). You can be arrested for DUI if you are impaired to the slightest degree – and the consequences are life-changing.

Know your limit! Drive Hammered, Get Nailed! Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving! Even One Drink Can Be One Too Many! Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over! Don’t treat these as only clever clichés. Remembering and following them may save your life. The Department will also be distributing “Know Your Limit” cards at local liquor establishments.

The Prescott Valley Police Department encourages celebrating responsibly. If you see any erratic driving, notify the police department immediately.

You may contact the Prescott Valley Police Department at (928) 772-9267 for non-emergencies or 911 for emergencies.
