WOW! Couldn’t believe how efficient, organized and enthusiastic the volunteers were at the Native Plant Sale! – Helen Boland, Master Gardener

Our Spring Grow Native ONLINE Plant Sale is an event that celebrates the native Arizona landscape.  As in the past, we encourage our member community to landscape with native and regionally native, low water use plants. Highlands Center staff and naturalists will be available to answer any questions you may have by email,  HC Members receive a 10% discount. All proceeds help fund the Center’s educational programs for children.

Wildflowers available for purchase include varieties of sun loving desert marigold, penstemon, blue flax, globemallow, and primrose. Wild native shrubs with edible berries include rose and currants. Plant a beautiful native vine like canyon grape or tree like desert willow. Plants on sale will provide beauty, habitat, food, and diversity to your home garden. Diverse native gardens provide food, cover, and nesting sites. When recreating natural habitat in your yard, you want to include a mix of native trees, shrubs, wildflowers and grasses that bloom at different times. This ensures that food in the form of nectar, pollen, seeds and berries is available for your winged visitors throughout the year.
