Roughrider E-Sports Announces 2022-23 Roster

After debuting in the spring of 2022, the Yavapai College E-Sports program is ready to expand its horizons in 2022-23. This year, Head Coach Kevin Lewis has added seven E-Sports gamers to the roster that will compete in three different games: Rocket League, Hearthstone and Super Smash Bros.

“The fall 2022 season for Yavapai E-Sports looks to be an exciting one as we were able to recruit some impressive athletes for each of our three teams,” Head Coach Kevin Lewis said. “We will be debuting E-Sports for Rocket League, Hearthstone, and Super Smash Bros Ultimate. All of our players are passionate and give 100% in practice and in game in order to improve and win games for Yavapai College.”

Rocket League Team

Drake Long

High School: Long graduated from Northwest Christian High School in May of 2017 and was the E-Sports captain in high school. 

Personal: Long was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on February 15, 1999. His hobbies include fishing and golfing and, in the future, he plans to study sports psychology. 

Devon Long

High School: Long graduated from Prescott High School in June of 2022 where he was a Grand Champion Rocket League Player. 

Personal: Long was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on May 11, 2004. His hobbies include gaming, guitar and piano and, in the future, he plans to major in aerospace science. 

Patrick Willoughby

High School: Willoughby graduated from Prescott High School in May of 2022. As a senior on the football team at Prescott, he helped lead the squad to the second round of playoffs while earning Second-Team All-State honors as a defensive lineman. 

Personal: Willoughby was born in Kingman, Arizona, on January 26, 2004. His hobbies include gaming and going to the gym and, in the future, he plans to study psychology. 

Owen Thomas

High School: Thomas graduated from Prescott High School in May of 2022. As a tennis player at PHS, Thomas played on the varsity team for four years, earned All-State honors three times and earned sixth-place at the individual state tournament. 

Personal: Thomas was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, on May 23, 2004. His hobbies include tennis and working on cars. While at YC, he plans to earn his associates degree in business. 

Logan Kunow

High School: Kunow earned his GED in May of 2021. 

Personal: Kunow was born in Mesa, Arizona, on May 20, 2003. While at YC, he plans to study business. 

Hearthstone Team

Champion Boehm-Reifenkugel

High School: Boehm-Reifenkugel graduated from Sedona Red Rock High School in May of 2010. While in high school, he played varsity football for four years in addition to four years of varsity cheer. He was also a member of the mathletes team. 

Personal: Boehm-Reifenkugel was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on April 14, 1992. His hobbies include playing Hearthstone, camping and cooking. He plans to major in business in addition to other degrees he might be able to acquire. He also plans to learn another language. 

Super Smash Bros Team

Manti Farnsworth

High School: Farnsworth graduated from Prescott High School in May of 2022. While at Prescott, he played two years of varsity E-Sports. 

Personal: Farnsworth was born in Tucson, Arizona, on June 9, 2004. His hobbies include gaming and anime/manga. In the future, he plans to attend a four-year school.
