HomeLocalPolice Reports RESULTS OF TRI CITY LAW ENFORCEMENT IRON SPRINGS RD DETAIL

RESULTS OF TRI CITY LAW ENFORCEMENT IRON SPRINGS RD DETAIL

The Tri-City Traffic Task Force, consisting of Prescott PD, Prescott Valley PD, Chino Valley PD, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office and DPS, conducted a proactive speed enforcement detail on Iron Springs Rd late last month. The detail accomplished 18 traffic stops total,  resulting in 11 speed violations, 1 red light violation, 1 distracted driver and 3 seatbelt violations. One of the seatbelt violations was a traffic stop for speeding in which one of the passengers, a 3-year-old in the rear passenger compartment, was not in an appropriate child restraint device. Both the parent and the driver were issued citations in this instance; one for the child restraint violation and one to the driver for speeding. The folks were also reminded of the dangers of speeding, especially on this roadway, and more importantly, while transporting “precious cargo” that is not fastened appropriately.

Although these enforcement details are “Zero Tolerance” which means nearly every stop is issued a  citation, the task force believes that being proactive is a more efficient way to tackle an issue than being reactive. With these hands-on patrol projects, we can reiterate to citizens and guests of the county, that safety on this roadway is a priority we continue to protect for everyone’s benefit.
