The Prescott Valley Police Department is now accepting applications for its 2022 Citizen Police Academy. The Citizen’s Academy begins Tuesday, August 23, 2022, and will be held at the Prescott Valley PD Training room, 7601 E. Skoog Blvd., Prescott Valley. The Academy will run from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM every Tuesday night through October 18, 2022. There is no charge for the Academy, and the public is invited.

The 9-week Academy is an in-depth look at the mission, philosophy, and operations of the department, and the extensive training that our officers receive before and throughout their service to our residents. Some of the classes presented include firearms training, special weapons and tactics, hostage negotiations, traffic and DUI enforcement, gang task force, volunteers in policing, and much more.
Seating is limited to 30 attendees and applicants must pass a background check. For additional information and an application, visit http://pvaz.net/805/citizens-police-academy. Applications from Prescott Valley residents will be processed first through August 9. After that date, any remaining available seats will be available to residents from other cities. All participants will be notified of their acceptance into the class by August 16. This class fills up quickly so don’t miss out the opportunity to attend this in-depth, behind the scenes look at police operations.
