Beginning this Wednesday, Prescott Valley Police Officers will join elementary school students during their lunch hours to give children opportunities to experience positive relationships with law enforcement personnel. This is a continuation of a previous program which had to be curtailed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This program will continue through the end of the school year.
Studies have shown that the earlier children experience positive relationships with law enforcement officers, the more likely their respect for law enforcement will enhance as they grow older. The Prescott Valley Police Department is committed to doing all it can to positively influence children. Officers visiting the schools will have special treats for the children.
Prescott Valley Police Department can be contacted at (928) 772-9267 for non-emergencies, 911 for emergencies. Yavapai County Silent witness is 1-800-932-3232.
