Schoch was nominated for the award because of actions he took to care for a pediatric patient following a motor vehicle accident.

“Thanks to Dylan’s quick actions and clinical training, he and his partner were able to safely extricate the patient and stabilize him before he was flown to an area trauma center for treatment,” said Alex Price, Operations Supervisor for Life Line. “The patient has since recovered and is now back in school.”

Schoch said he is excited to be honored as one of the 2022 Stars of Life and that this recognition wouldn’t have been possible without the support of his colleagues and his family. “The work that we do in EMS comes from the passion and heart of what we are trained to accomplish,” said Schoch. “I wouldn’t be anywhere close to receiving this recognition without the help of my friends, family, preceptors, and  instructors who helped shaped me into the paramedic that I am today. I am eternally grateful for their support, which strengthens my ambition and devotion to my profession and the community that I serve.”
