Prescott National Forest Announces Fuelwood Opportunity

Prescott National Forest Announces Fuelwood Opportunity in the Camp Wood Area on the Chino Valley Ranger District

The Prescott National Forest is announcing that a recently thinned area in Camp Wood on the Chino Valley Ranger District is available for dead and down fuelwood collection. The Connell and Stinson Stewardship Projects recently completed thinning of 366 acres of  ponderosa pine in the vicinity of Yolo Ranch, Forest Service Road 9 and the Rock House Spring. The contractor was not permitted to remove any oaks or junipers so there is a significant amount of quality fuelwood available, especially near the project’s landings, or areas where cut trees were processed and loaded onto log trucks.
