Prescott Area Drug Dealers shut down who were involved in the Sales of Fentanyl and other poison. Juvenile teen rescued from ongoing sex trafficking.

This release was delayed due to an ongoing investigation that remained active following the arrests of 47-year-old John McVeigh and 34-year-old Brady Bennett, both from Prescott.

The charges are as follows –

For John – Possession of Dangerous Drugs for Sale (Methamphetamine), Possession of Dangerous Drugs (Methamphetamine), Possession of Narcotic Drugs for Sale (Fentanyl),      Possession of Narcotic Drugs (Fentanyl) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Methamphetamine and Fentanyl Related). John is held without bond.

For Brady – Sexual Conduct with a Minor, Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, Possession of a Dangerous Drug (Methamphetamine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Methamphetamine Related). Brady is held on a $200,000 bond.

Background – On June 9, 2020, John was contacted on a traffic stop at the intersection of Enterprise Way and State Route 69.  During the traffic stop, he was found in possession of 5 grams of heroin, 3 grams of methamphetamine, 66 “M30” Fentanyl pills, 20 grams of marijuana, a THC vape pen, and 91 Suboxone strips. When interviewed, John admitted to his involvement with drug sales, specifically selling Fentanyl and heroin.  John was booked into the Yavapai County Jail and out on felony release.

In the month of July, detectives from Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking (PANT) received information that since his release, John was again selling Fentanyl, methamphetamine, and heroin.  Additionally, John and another male subject, identified as “Brady Bennett,” were reportedly sex trafficking a 16-year-old girl.

On July 14, 2020, detectives from PANT learned that John was staying at hotel in the 800 block of White Spar Road, Prescott. John was reportedly in possession of at least 50 fentanyl pills and methamphetamine while planning to resupply and pick up more methamphetamine, fentanyl pills and heroin.

On July 14, 2020, PANT detectives obtained a warrant for his motel and 2 vehicles associated with the suspects. John was located driving and detained by Prescott Police Department Officers in the 500 block of White Spar Rd.  Brady and a 16-year-old female passenger were stopped and detained in the 400 block of White Spar Rd. by a YCSO Deputy.

In the motel room, detectives found 11 grams of methamphetamine, 34 blue “M30” pills believed to be Fentanyl, a loaded syringe containing a brown substance likely heroin, and several items of drug paraphernalia.  The Prescott Police also arrived to provide assistance.

John told detectives he met Brady several years ago in prison. John indicated the teen, 16-years of age, was Brady’s girlfriend acknowledging that Brady is 34-years-old. John is also a registered sex offender but denied any sexual relationship with the teen girl.

When interviewed, Brady also denied a sexual relationship with the teen and she denied a sexual relationship with either John or Brady. Following the interview, the teen was released to the custody of the Department of Child Safety pending follow-up with her parents.

As the investigation continued over the next several days, detectives found video evidence proving a sexual relationship between Brady and the teen girl beginning when she was 15-years-old. Detectives discovered the sexual relationship was also used by Brady to apparently trade favors on behalf of the teen for others.

The investigation is ongoing into the activities of John and Brady related to sex trafficking with the teen victim along with the possibility of additional victims. Brady was charged with Sexual Exploitation of a minor amongst other charges.

PANT detectives would like to thank the Prescott Police Department for their assistance with the investigation.
