P.E.O. is an international association of women who support women’s education through scholarships, grants, awards, loans and the stewardship of Cottey College, their college located in Missouri.  The organization was founded in 1869, and since then has evolved into an organization of more than 250,000 women who belong to local chapters located all over the United States and Canada.  Cumulatively, P.E.O. has provided financial educational to more than 119,000 women during its 153 year history.

Prescott’s P.E.O. Chapter Y was founded in 1950, and today has 58 members.  Each year, the Chapter raises funds to support the organization’s various scholarship programs at international, state and local levels, as well as providing educational funds for local students.

Tickets for the wine tasting event are $29/person or $55/two people and are available until October 8.  They may be ordered by contacting Rozanne Love at (928) 899-5881 or by Email at

Wines featured at the event will be provided by Oyster Bay of New Zealand.  The Prescott Wedding Chapel and Event Center is located at 105 Carleton Street in Prescott.

Chapter president Cheryl Todd stated “Our members are delighted to be able to continue to provide these scholarships and help so many well-deserving women in our Prescott community.   Over the years, our chapter’s philanthropic projects have helped hundreds of local women obtain the education they deserve.”

P.E.O. chapters support the educational and charitable funds of the P.E.O. Sisterhood but are not classified as charitable by the IRS.  Therefore, donations to individual chapters do not meet the IRS requirements for a charitable income tax deduction.
