Jean relocated to Arizona in 2000 to share her dedication and joy as a true matriarch of her family. She enjoyed playing the accordion, a love of Elvis, and multiple volunteer opportunities throughout her life; most recently her church home and NOAH’s Foundation and Thrift Store. She started her career as an executive secretary but shortly realized her true calling was to be a domestic engineer. Jean dedicated her life to her children and was an overachiever as a wife and mother. She always took an active role in her children’s classrooms and extracurricular activities. Jean will be lovingly remembered for her cheerful spirit, warm hugs, smiling eyes, generous spirit, and a life of selfless service to others as a true Proverbs 31 woman.

Jean Ann is survived by the love of her life and husband of 55 years, Jim Townsend. She goes before her daughter Jaime (Sid) Coffin and son Jim (Lucie) Townsend Jr. The light of her life were her five grandchildren: Savannah (Daniel) Salas, Spencer (Morgan) Coffin, Courtney (Durell) Wilkinson, Sierra Townsend, Dakota Townsend as well as Jean’s great-grandchildren Jaxon and Hayden.

Memorial service will be held on Sunday, Nov 28th at 9:30 am at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church located at 1202 Green Lane in Prescott, Arizona 86305.

Jean’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the first responders and ACT volunteers who helped them navigate her unexpected passing. As Jean was a monthly financial contributor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, her family requests donations to St. Jude’s in her honor and as a living tribute in lieu of flowers.
