The Town of Prescott Valley has installed a new four-way stop traffic control at Viewpoint Drive and Long Look Drive to enhance driver and pedestrian safety in the area. The four-way stop opened on Friday morning, November 19.
Crews on Friday morning, Nov. 19, finish striping the
Viewpoint – Long Look intersection in preparation to
changing the traffic control to a 4-way stop
The intersection now has stop signs at all four corners, with All-Way indications on the eastbound and westbound approaches. The Town has also installed “Stop Ahead” and “New Traffic Pattern Ahead” signs in advance of the intersection. These signs will be flagged for 60 days to alert drivers to the change in traffic control.
Crews have striped crosswalks on the north, south, and west sides of the intersection. No crosswalk will be installed on the east side to encourage pedestrian use of existing sidewalks on the west side.
While the Town has marked the intersection with signs and striping, this is a change in the normal traffic flow. Drivers and pedestrians are urged to use extreme caution while navigating the area.
