    State Leaders to Bring “Budget Roadshow” to Cottonwood

    STATE CAPITOL, PHOENIX – State Representative Regina Cobb, House Appropriations Chair,  Senator David Gowan, Senate Appropriations Chair, and Matt Gress, Director of the Governor’s  Office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting, will present an informative and insightful public briefing on the recently-passed state budget on Monday, September 20 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cottonwood  Recreational Center. Members of the public and media are encouraged to attend. 

    The event will feature a look at the state’s budget process, budget history, notable accomplishments from the legislative session and budget, a video from Governor Doug Ducey, a look ahead to the next session and budget, and a Q & A with the public.

    Background 

    In June, Republicans in the Arizona Legislature passed, and Governor Ducey signed, a landmark state budget for the 2022 fiscal year that included historic tax reform and debt reduction. The budget addresses Arizona’s most critical needs, including infrastructure and transportation projects, paying down state debt, and prioritizes families with increased K-12 and higher education funding, support for public safety, and strengthened election integrity. 

    This event is part of a series of public briefings being presented on the budget in communities across  Arizona.
