On 8/29/21 at approximately 3:15 pm, YCSO deputies responded to a report of a subject threatening family members with a gun on Cedar Spring Rd, in Castle Canyon Mesa. Upon arrival, the suspect, Armando Gamez, 29, had fled the scene. The investigation determined that Gamez had threatened his grandparents Antonio R Gamez and Maria T Gamez at their home in Prescott Valley with a gun and knife, pointed a firearm at the two victims, and stated “I’m gonna kill you.” The victims believed he would follow through with his threat and they were in fear for their life. Gamez was violent, swearing at them, smashing property, and generally being disruptive.
Gamez later returned to the scene around 9 pm and was still armed with a handgun. The first deputy on scene encountered multiple family members outside the house who reported Gamez was inside with the grandparents but when deputies cleared the home, he was not found. The next day he was arrested without incident on Treasure Rd in CCM.
Gamez was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Assault, Disorderly Conduct, Threatening and Intimidating, and Criminal Damage against his grandparents.
