Head-on Crash Sends Two to Hospital
On Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 8:19 AM, Prescott Valley Police received calls of a head-on collision on State Route 89A east of Coyote Springs Road. Officers and medical personnel from Central Arizona Medical Authority (CAFMA) responded to the scene to assist injured drivers and investigate.
Investigation revealed that a Ford Ranger was travelling eastbound when it drifted into the path of an oncoming truck for unknown reasons. The Ranger struck the thirty-foot truck head-on. The driver of the Ranger was extricated from the vehicle and flown to a Phoenix area hospital with significant injuries. The driver of the rental truck was transported to YRMC, via ambulance, with non-life-threatening injuries.
The causation of the accident has not been determined and the investigation is ongoing.
