YAVAPAI COUNTY – In an effort to save lives on Arizona’s roadways, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office recently partnered with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to enforce our state’s seat belt laws during the Buckle Up Arizona …It’s the Law, campaign.
The campaign took place from May 24th – June 6th, 2021. During that period YCSO Deputies issued a total of 79 traffic citations. The related citations included 49 seat belt violations, 11 moving violations, 7 non-moving violations, and 4 distracted driving violations. In addition, 5 tickets were issued for no insurance and 3 drivers were ticketed for driving on suspended driver’s licenses.
Other traffic stops related to this effort resulted in 3 DUI arrests and one drug arrest.
