Through grant funding made possible by the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, the Prescott Police Department, Prescott Valley Police Department, Chino Valley Police Department, and Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office participated in a speed and aggressive driving enforcement detail on Friday, May 14th, 2021 from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
The area of focus was Pioneer Parkway, Willow Creek Road, Williamson Valley Road and Highway 89. During the detail, officer’s conducted 62 traffic stops which resulted in the following:
32 citations for speeding
3 citations for red light violations
2 citations for driving on a suspended license
3 citations for driving while talking on a cell phone
Two of those violations included speeds of 67 mph and 65 mph in a 45 mph zone on Willow Creek Road. One violator was stopped for traveling 32 mph over the speed limit.
