    Food Recall: S&W Organic Black Beans & Chili Beans. Here is what you need to know!

    S&W Organic Black beans recall

    Faribault Foods Inc. is expanding a recall of certain cans of S&W Organic Black Beans and Chili  Beans to include those at Costco stores because the cans may have compromised seals that could lead to botulism poisoning. 

    The compromised hermetic seal may affect can integrity and may cause the cans to leak, bloat or allow bacteria, such as Clostridium botulinum, to grow inside the product which could lead to serious illness 

    The initial recalled products were distributed to retail stores across the nation.

    The recall was initiated after the firm had received consumer and customer complaints regarding the failure of the hermetic seal.

    Consumers should check their homes because of the long shelf life of the beans, which do not expire until 2023.

    The FDA warned in the notice that Clostridium botulinum poisoning, which can begin as little as six hours after consumption, can cause double vision, blurred vision, drooping eyelids, slurred speech, difficulty swallowing, and muscle weakness.
