The Yarnell Water Improvement Association (YWIA) will hold its Membership Meeting to update the membership and community on the state of the Association, discuss topics of interest, elect board members and distribute the 2020 Annual Report. The YWIA Annual Membership Meeting will begin on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. at the Yarnell Community Presbyterian Church. The meeting is being held outdoors in the interest of the health and safety of our members and guests.
YWIA President & CEO, Claude Mattox will deliver the State of the Association address, followed by operations, grants, and Capital Improvement Program update by Chief Operating Officer, Jerry Postema, and a financial report by Vice-President & Treasurer, Steve Kremer. Representatives from the USDA and Bureau of Reclamation have been invited as guests of honor to celebrate the grant-funded YWIA infrastructure improvements that have been or are nearing completion.
The Board will present information and solicit community input on topics important to the financial healthy and long-term sustainability of the system – Fire Protection Costs, Yarnell Fire Department Agreement, and the initiation of an Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) Rate Case.
Elections will be held for the open board seats. Board members Tim O’Day and Barb Dow are seeking re-election. Results of the election will be announced at the meeting after which the newly elected directors will take the YWIA Oath of Office. YWIA Board members serve a three-year term.
