Prescott Police Receives a Grant from Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety

    The Prescott Police Department received a grant award from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety through Proposition 207, The Smart and Safe Arizona Act, to assist with the investigation of fatal, life-threatening, and/or serious injury traffic collisions, detecting impaired drivers and enforcement of reckless/aggressive driving on our roadways.  

    The grant awarded was for the sum of $167,150.00 and is to be used for a DUI processing van, one fully marked police motorcycle, overtime, speed detection instruments, and alcohol breath detection instruments.  The grant will help target such crimes as DUI, Aggravated DUI, Endangerment, Hit and Run, Aggravated Assault, Vehicular Homicide, Reckless and Aggressive Driving.  

    As always, the Prescott Police Department asks drivers to make responsible choices and to drive safely.
