This 4-hour detail resulted in 46 traffic stops, 27-speed citations, 3 seat belt citations, 1 distracted driving citation, and 11 other citations. While on this detail officers stopped two vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed. A vehicle traveling 80 mph in a 55 mph per zone and a vehicle traveling 91 mph in a 65 mph zone.

This cooperative detail was made possible with funding provided by The Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety provides overtime funding to law enforcement agencies in an effort to target speed reduction, decrease impaired driving, increase seat belt and child safety seat usage as well as motorcycle safety awareness and driver distractions that cause traffic fatalities and injuries on our streets and highways.

Chino Valley Police Department would like to thank the other agencies involved in this detail and remind drivers to obey traffic laws, wear their seatbelt, do not drink and drive, and do not drive distracted.
