    Level 3 Sex Offender Notification- Michael Klempner

    The Prescott Police Department is required to release the following information according to Arizona Revised Statute 13-3825, The Community Notification on Sex Offenders Law.  The offender in this publication is residing in Prescott, Arizona.  Notification must be made when certain sex offenders are released from the Arizona State Prison, released from County Jail, or are accepted under an interstate compact.  Offenders are categorized into three levels according to their risk to their respective communities.  Level One 1, Low Risk; Level Two 2-Intermediate Risk; Level Three 3-High Risk.

    The individual who appears on this notification, 27 year-old Michael Klempner, has been convicted of a sex offense that allows for community notification.  The individual is NOT currently wanted by the Prescott Police Department at this particular time.  The individual will be living at 217 W. Leroux St., Prescott, AZ 86301.

    On September 10, 2012 in Prescott, AZ then 19 year old offender held a 17 year old male against his will, whom he had briefly met that same day.  Offender pushed and held the victim against a picnic table and pulled the victim’s pants down and sodomized him.  The victim had Asperger’s Syndrome and functioned at a low social level.  Offender is on lifetime probation.  On 08/15/2017, Offender was charged with failing to register and was sentenced to Arizona Department of Corrections.  He was released on 03/01/2019.

    This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather it is the belief of the Prescott Police Department that an informed community is a safer community.  Anyone who uses this information to commit a criminal act against another is subject to prosecution.
