Elderly Man Robbed, $400 Reward Leading To The Arrest of Suspects Involved

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help in identifying two suspects involved in a brazen theft which occurred in the Prescott Country Club in Dewey Arizona.

In the late morning hours of October 19, 2020, the elderly male victim returned to his Prescott Country Club home after shopping at the Fry’s in Prescott Valley.  As the victim pulled into his garage, a white SUV or Pickup with two Hispanic males inside pulled in behind him.  The two males offered to help the victim carry his groceries into his house.  The victim agreed to let them help him.

Once inside, the older suspect distracted the victim by leading him to his backyard and talking about doing landscaping and fencing repairs.  At the same time, the younger suspect entered the master bedroom and stole a small 1 foot square black combination lock safe from the closet.  Inside the safe was $1,000 in cash as well as three handguns.

The first firearm was described as a Taurus .38 caliber pistol, and black in color.  The Taurus was new and still inside the box.  The second firearm was a black semi-automatic handgun described as a World War 2 era French pistol.  The third handgun was a black .38 revolver of an unknown make.   Investigators believe the suspects may have followed the victim from Prescott Valley or from the Maverick area in the Prescott Country Club.

If you provide information leading to an arrest in this case, you could earn up to a $400 cash reward.  To earn your reward, you must call Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232 or submit a tip at  Remember all tips are anonymous.  You never have to give your name.
