Town of Prescott Valley Management Services receives annual awards for excellence in finance reporting
The Town of Prescott Valley has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA), for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR), and GFOA’s Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting (PAFR award). This is the Town’s 22nd consecutive year to receive the CAFR award, and the 18th consecutive year for the PAFR award.
The PAFR Award represents a significant achievement by Prescott Valley’s Management Services Department. In order to be eligible for the PAFR award, a government must submit its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) to GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program and receive the CAFR award for the current fiscal year. Each eligible report is reviewed by judges who evaluate the report based on reader appeal, understandability, distribution methods, creativity and other elements.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
