News From PVPD on the Fatal Motorcycle Crash

On Friday, April 1, 2022, at 4:45 PM, Prescott Valley Police responded to a vehicle accident on State  Route 69 at Village Creek Boulevard. 

According to witnesses, a motorcyclist was traveling northbound on State Route 69 when he attempted to pass northbound traffic in the median turn lane. Due to an oncoming vehicle, he moved  to his left to the inner-most southbound lane where he then swerved left again to avoid a second oncoming vehicle. He then collided head-on with a third southbound vehicle, a GMC truck. He was  pronounced deceased on scene. The impact caused damage to the GMC truck and caused it to spin counterclockwise where it struck a Ford Excursion SUV.

No one else was injured in the accident and no impairment was suspected by the GMC and  Excursion drivers.  

The deceased motorcyclist is Steven Wolfe, age 62, of Chino Valley. He was not wearing a helmet.  

Prescott Valley Police would like to thank both ADOT and Arizona DPS who assisted with the road closure and initial investigation. The investigation is ongoing by the Prescott Valley Police Traffic Unit.
