Through further investigation it has been determined that the suspect, Jack Kettles, stole $1,157 from Amtrust Bank during the Robbery. Upon apprehension and subsequent search of the vehicle and Kettles, investigators were able to recover $1,067 in cash. It is believed that Kettles had stopped at a convenience store where he possibly used some of the stolen cash to purchase goods.
The 2014 Toyota Tundra was recovered but had sustained significant damage. Dealer estimates the vehicle received approximately $12,000 in damage. Fortunately, nobody was injured during the course of this incident.
Kettles was booked into the Yavapai County Jail on charges of Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Theft of Means of Transportation as well as Criminal Damage.
On Friday, March 25, 2022, at approximately 1:23 PM Prescott Police Officers responded to the call of a Bank Robbery in progress at the Amtrust Bank located at 3027 Dollar Mark Way in Prescott.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the suspect had walked into the bank and presented a teller with a note demanding money. The suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash and left out the front door of the bank. Officers were able to determine that the suspect then got into a waiting Taxi and left the scene.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect received a ride to York Motors located at 500 Prescott Lakes Parkway where he was dropped off. The suspect then stole a 2014 Toyota Tundra under the pretense of wanting to test drive the vehicle. An attempt to locate was sent out to surrounding agencies with the information on the suspect as well as the vehicle.
At approximately 3:20 P.M. Prescott Police received notification that a Yavapai County Sheriff’s Deputy had located the vehicle eastbound on State Route 169. The suspect failed to yield to Yavapai County Deputies as well as authorities from the Arizona Department of Public Safety and a pursuit ensued. The suspect was later taken into custody by Yavapai County Sheriff Deputies and State Troopers on Interstate 17 just north of the General Crook exit.
The suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Prescott resident, Jack Kettles. Currently Kettles is in custody and awaiting booking into the Yavapai County Jail on several serious felony crimes.
