The Mariners struck first in the second game this tournament between these two teams, scoring a run in the first half inning. It would be the first time the Eagles have trailed all week, but it would be the last time.

Embry-Riddle erased that one-run deficit with a pair of runs in the second and third innings. The Eagles grabbed a 4-1 lead after the third, and neither team scored again for the remainder of the contest.

Jaden Espinosa got the scoring started for the Eagles in the second, blasting a solo home run to tie the game at one. Sam Holbert reached on an error with two outs in the same inning, and made the Mariners pay, as the Eagles collected two more hits after that to bring Holbert home and take the lead.

For the second straight inning, the Eagles led off with a solo home run, as Diana Miranda Montano gave Embry-Riddle a 3-1 lead with the blast off her bat. Danielle Jamieson singled right after Miranda Montano, and made her way around the bases to eventually score on a double steal.

The Eagles knocked out 11 hits on the day, and four players had multi-hit games. Rachel Hammons went 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Miranda Montano, Jamieson, plus Maddie Judge each had a pair of knocks.

Mikaeli Davidson started her first game of the tournament, and was excellent from start to finish. Davison spread out four hits over the seven innings, and struck out eight in the tournament finale while retiring 10 of the final 11 batters.

The Eagles will now find out where they will play in the NAIA National Tournament this upcoming Tuesday with the selection show. The NAIA Softball Opening Round is scheduled for May 16-18 at ten different NAIA campuses around the country.
