Men’s Soccer Lands Three on All-Conference Teams

PRESCOTT, Ariz. – As it prepares for the region championship match on Friday, the Yavapai College men’s soccer team had three of its student-athletes earn spots on the ACCAC All-Conference teams, the conference office announced. Sophomore forward Iann Topete leads the group with First-Team All-Conference honors while sophomore defender Jakob Larson and sophomore midfielder Charlie Nunez took home Second-Team All-Conference honors.

In addition, the trio also earned First-Team All-Region honors. 

Iann Topete | San Luis, Arizona

Topete was an offensive force for YC all season long as he led the team in goals (13), assists (seven) and points (33) while averaging a goal-per-game. He also tallied four game-winning goals on the season in addition to three multi-goal efforts, one of which was a hat trick. 

It is the second time in Topete’s career at YC that he has led the team in goals and earned First-Team All-Conference honors.

Jakob Larson | Missoula, Montana

Larson has been anchoring the Roughrider defense for three seasons now and is taking home All-Conference honors for the second time in his YC career. 

This season, Larson started all 13 games for the Roughriders and helped lead the squad to five shutouts. In addition, he tallied a goal and an assist this season to bring his career goal total to eight.

Charlie Nunez | Gilbert, Arizona

In the midfield for the Roughriders all season long, Nunez’s dynamic skill set allows him to be heavily involved in the offense and defense for YC. 

This season, Nunez tallied a goal and two assists while aiding in the Roughriders five shutouts on defense. He now has seven goals scored in his YC career.
