    Level 2 Sex Offender Notification- Lawrence Kalena

    The Prescott Police Department is required to release the following information pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 13-3825, The Community Notification on Sex Offenders Law.  The offender in this publication is residing in Prescott, Arizona.  Notification must be made when certain sex offenders are released from the Arizona State Prison, released from County Jail, or are accepted under an interstate compact.  Offenders are categorized into three levels according to their risk to their respective community.  Level One 1, Low Risk; Level Two 2-Intermediate Risk; Level Three 3-High Risk.

    The individual who appears on this notification, 45-year old Lawrence Kalena, has been convicted of a sex offense that allows for community notification.  The individual is NOT currently wanted by the Prescott Police Department at this particular time.  The individual will be living at 1130 E. Gurley Street, Prescott, AZ 86301.

    On February 24, 1993, in California, the offender was convicted of Attempted Rape by Force, Assault to commit Rape by Force, Kidnapping, Oral Copulation and Sexual Penetration with a Foreign Object.  The victim was a 14 year old female and the offender was committed to the California Youth Authority.

    This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather it is the belief of the Prescott Police Department that an informed community is a safer community.  Anyone who uses this information to commit a criminal act against another is subject to prosecution.
