Tortilla Flat is an historic Stagecoach stop that offers a beautiful scenic drive and escape for all the hustle and bustle of big city life.

The New Town owners have renovated the old buildings, it is about two block long. On the State route 88 known as the Apache Trail, east of Apache Junction. 

When you arrive, nothing looks modern, the town still as the historic feel to it. That was the goal with the renovation.

Tortilla Flat is 53 miles east of central Phoenix, on the edge of Tonto National Forest; It is nestled in between the mountain passes alongside the salt river, it is a place to rest and refuel, enjoy the breathing views. 

There is food, live music and historical building including post office, museums, souvenirs lots of southwest history and of course, ice cream and gelato.

Tortilla Flat is open year-round. The Summer season is June 1 – Sept 30. The Winter season is Oct. 1 May 31. This is an enjoyable day to take the family and spend the afternoon is this historic place.
