Heroes Among Us Awards – Honoring Veterans & First Responders Who Continue to Serve
The 4th Annual Heroes Among Awards, a program of Bethany’s Gait Ranch, honor those who have served in uniform and continue to give back through volunteering in the Quad Cities area. Members of the community are invited to submit nomination forms through Wednesday, August 31.

There are five categories for honoring heroes: military (active, reserve or veteran), first responder (any agency; active or retired), military spouse, first responder spouse, and organization. Nominations related to those who are volunteering with organizations serving military, first responders, and/or horses are especially encouraged but not required. Nomination forms can be found at Founding Fathers and Cowgirl Country Antiques in Prescott, Bob’s C.A.R. in Chino Valley, or online at www.bethanysgait.org.
The awards will be presented at a celebration on Veterans Day, Friday November 11 (location TBA). In addition to the awards presentation, the event will include dinner, a keynote speaker, and live and silent auction.

The mission of Bethany’s Gait Ranch is to rescue, rehabilitate and restore the lives of military (active, reserve, veteran), first responders, their family members, and horses in need. The Ranch is located in Chino Valley, AZ.

Recognition Event
WHAT: An event to recognize the “heroes among us” in the Quad Cities area, military (active, reserve, veteran) and first responders who served in uniform and continue to serve the community through volunteering. Recognition also goes to a military spouse, a first responder spouse and an organization that serves these populations.
WHEN: Nomination period runs Wednesday, June 1 – Wednesday, August 31 Date of Awards Ceremony: Friday, November 11 (Veterans Day)

WHO: The community will be invited to nominate heroes in the following categories: Military (active duty, reserve or veteran; 2 honorees chosen), First Responder (active or retired; 2 honorees chosen), Military Spouse, First Responder Spouse, Organization. Deadline for nomination submissions is August 31, 2022.
Honorees will be chosen by a committee of their peers. Attendance to the awards event will be open to the general public; however, tickets must be purchased in advance.
Award Criteria:
Award recipients are chosen through nominations submitted by community members and reviewed by the Awards Committee. The recipient must have served in the military (any branch, any conflict) or as a first responder (any agency nationwide) and is now continuing to give back to the community through volunteering. Those who are volunteering with organizations related to military, first responders, and/or horses are especially encouraged to be nominated.
