Prescott Valley Police Officer Cameron Loughmiller was chosen by the Prescott Elks Lodge as its 2021 Officer of the Year.
Officer Loughmiller has been with the Prescott Valley Police Department for six years, assigned to the patrol division, SWAT Team, and more recently, the Drug Enforcement Unit. In the past year, Cameron has refined his skills as an officer and found interest in enforcing drug-related crimes. He has taken every opportunity to work alongside other officers to support the Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking (PANT) taskforce by making traffic stops, searching for drugs, and building information to assist PANT detectives in their investigations.
Cameron is also a member of the Prescott Valley Police Department’s SWAT Team and is currently assigned to the entry team as a grenadier. Not only does he enjoy his position with SWAT, but he has attended numerous advanced trainings to sharpen his skills as an operator on the team.
After the recent development of the department’s new Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), Cameron took the opportunity to test, and was selected, for the position of narcotics detective. He completed the required two-week detective school and is currently working on numerous drug investigations within Prescott Valley. In 2021, Office Loughmiller completed 60 citations and 4 DUI arrests, and responded to 862 calls for service resulting in 53 arrests and three commendations. His hard work and dedication in has earned him the award of Officer of the Year for 2021.
