The Embry-Riddle men’s golf team hit the road for the first time this Spring, and took home a team championship at the Rocky Mountain College Intercollegiate on Wednesday. The Eagles were the most consistent team over the two rounds, and held off a late charge by host Rocky Mountain to win the team title by two strokes.
Trevor Lewis finished tied for third, breaking his three-tournament individual championship win streak. Lewis was great again, like he has all Freshman season long, going one-under on Wednesday to shoot into the top three.
Cameron Jones finished tied with Lewis at the three spot, as he finished at par in both rounds. On Wednesday, Jones had three birdies and an eagle on the par-4 Hole 1.
Alex Lasalarie continued his excellent string of play, finishing the tournament tied for fifth. Lasalarie had four birdies in the final day, and had an excellent Tuesday, going one under on his first time around the course.
Connor Wallace had a great time as an individual, finishing the tournament tied for 15th. Wallace was one shot better in his final round, and had a two-round total of 151.
The Eagles will have less than a week before going back to Vegas, where they will take part in the Battle at Paiute. The first round from the Paiute Resort is scheduled for Monday, March 21.
