For the second-consecutive week, the Yavapai College women’s soccer team is bringing home weekly ACCAC honors. This time, sophomore forward Hanna Urtado is taking home ACCAC Player of the Week honors the conference announced Wednesday morning.
For Urtado, it’s her first weekly ACCAC honor. Overall, she is the sixth Roughrider to earn the honors during the 2022-23 athletic year with all six being from the women’s soccer team.
Last week, Urtado helped lead the Roughriders to a 4-2 victory over Paradise Valley and 5-2 victory over GateWay.
In the Paradise Valley match, Urtado tallied a hat trick that included the game-winning goal. Four days later against GateWay, the sophomore netted two goals to give her five scores on the week.
Overall, she has tallied three-consecutive game-winning goals, has scored seven goals in her last three games and has scored eight goals in her last five games. She leads the Roughriders in goals (eight), points (17) and game-winning goals (three).
Urtado and the rest of the Roughriders are back in action later today (October 5) at Ken Lindley Field in Prescott, Arizona, where they will face the No. 15-ranked Arizona Western College Matadors with kickoff set for 6 p.m.
