Conference play marches on for the No. 13-ranked Yavapai College baseball team as it hits the road on Tuesday in Thatcher, Arizona, before hosting baseball on Saturday with both matchups being ACCAC doubleheaders.

The Games

The Roughriders match up with the Eastern Arizona College Gila Monsters on Tuesday in Thatcher, Arizona, with game one slated to start at noon. After a few off days, the Roughriders then host the No. 2-ranked Central Arizona College Vaqueros on Saturday in Prescott, Arizona, at Roughrider Park with game one set to start at noon as well. The Gila Monsters

Eastern Arizona College comes into its matchup with Yavapai at 7-11 overall and 0-6 within the ACCAC. Last time out, the Gila Monsters were swept by the Vaqueros. 

The Vaqueros

Central Arizona College comes into its matchup with Yavapai ranked No. 2 in the NJCAA, 17-3 overall and 8-2 in ACCAC play. Before heading to Prescott on Saturday, the Vaqueros will host GateWay Community College on Tuesday and Wednesday. 

The Roughriders

After a weekend split with South Mountain, Yavapai heads into its week of baseball with an overall record of 8-7-1 and conference record of 2-4. Tuesday’s matchup with Eastern Arizona will be the first time the Roughriders have met the Gila Monsters this season.

The Riders, however, have matched up with the Vaqueros this season with Central claiming a narrow 7-5 victory back on February 5 in the 2022 Zinger Bat Invitational. 

Player To Watch

Redshirt-sophomore outfielder Sean Rimmer enjoyed a 4-for-5 doubleheader against South Mountain with two walks, a homer, two runs scored and five RBIs. 

One Last Thing

Last season, the Roughriders swept Eastern Arizona with scores of 12-1 and 18-8.
