EXCELLENT INAUGURAL SEASON COMES TO AN END AT CAL PAC TOURNAMENT

The inaugural Embry-Riddle baseball season came to an end at the Cal Pac Championship on Thursday, as the Eagles lost an elimination game to host Benedictine-Mesa. ERAU trailed 7-0 after the first inning, and pulled within 8-6 but a three-run home run by the Redhawks proved to be the dagger in an 11-6 final.

The Eagles slowly chipped away at a 7-0 deficit in the opening frame, scoring two runs in each of the next three innings. ERAU was within two through the fourth inning, trailing 8-6, but following three runs in the fifth from the Redhawks, neither team scored again for the remainder of the contest.

Seven different Embry-Riddle players had hits on Thursday, and Carson Ramocinski managed a pair. The Eagles were really patient at the plate as well, drawing seven walks to have traffic on the bases often through the first four innings.

Calvin Solie and Owen Cain each had two-RBI hits during the Eagles comeback efforts, and Kevin Fedoruk along with Aiden Vestbie each drove in one. Solie recorded his two-RBI hit with a single in the second, and Owen Cain brought in his pair with a double in the fourth.

Embry-Riddle’s successful first season has come to an end with the loss, and the Eagles will begin to prepare for next Spring. For all the latest information on the baseball program, be sure to visit eraueagles.com often.
