In its first trip outside of Arizona this spring, the Embry-Riddle women’s golf team had three players finish inside the individual top five, Kendall McBean took home the individual championship, and the Eagles won the team title at the Rocky Mountain College Intercollegiate. ERAU finished four strokes ahead of second-place UB Okanagan, and was the only team with a total under 660.
McBean finished round one with the top score of 75, and stayed there after Wednesday’s round. McBean won the title by two strokes, playing consistently all day with a par on 12 of the 18 holes and was the only player to be even or better on par 3s.
Hailey Stevenson was one shot better on Wednesday, and allowed her to finish fourth. Stevenson had a few great holes in the final round, dropping three Eagles on a difficult course.
Maisy Alsen moved up two spots on the leaderboard on Wednesday with her performance and got into the top five. Alsen was consistent through the two rounds, shooting 81 both days and finishing fifth.
Libby Axen made it four Eagles in the top 15 of the individual leaderboard, as she finished exactly at 15th with a +25 over the two rounds. Anna Fundenberg finished 21st, going +29 in two days.
The Eagles will get back on the course in less then a week, going back to Vegas for the Battle at Paiute. The first round from the Paiute Resort is scheduled for Monday, March 21st.
