JAMIESON EARNS SB PLAYER OF THE WEEK, MUSSLER BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
The California Pacifc Conferene announced its baseball and softball Players of the Week earlier Monday, and an Embry-Riddle Eagle earned an award in each sport. Softball’s Danielle Jamieson was named the Player of the Week, while baseball’s Mitchell Mussler was named the conference Pitcher of the Week.
Mussler recorded his second complete-game shutout of the season, striking out 12 batters and allowing just two hits. Mussler had a no-hitter through 5.2 innings, and was the first of two complete-games by Eagle pitchers during the weekend.
Jamieson went 6-for-10, driving in six runs and posting a .636 OBP. Jamieson had a three-RBI triple in the series finale against Benedictine-Mesa on Sunday, and drove in at least one run in every game she played over the weekend.
Both players will now be put up for NAIA Player of the Week in their respective categories. Softball will have the weekend off after accumulating the Cal Pac’s best record so far, while baseball heads to Lancaster, Calif. for a huge series with first-place Antelope Valley on Friday and Saturday.
