EAGLES EARN SECOND AT BATTLE OF PAIUTE AGAINST TOP COMPETITION

LAS VEGAS, NEV. – The Embry-Riddle women’s golf team fought hard at The Paiute Battle, and finished two strokes short of the team championship on Tuesday. The 7th-ranked Eagles finished better than four other ranked teams over the two rounds, and only fell to #4 British Columbia.

Hailey Stevenson finished tied for second after pushing all day toward the individual championship. Stevenson had a better day in round two, shooting a 79 and earning another podium finish this season.

Kendall McBean earned another top-10 finish, wrapping up the tournament tied for eighth. McBean had a consistent tournament, shooting an 80 each day and staying in the championship chase during the entire event.

Maisy Alsen finished tied for 13th, and was just one shot off getting into the top 10. Alsen posted an 82 in round 1, and recorded five birdies in the tournament.

Kaetlin Halseth and Hannah Spiller wound up tied for 23rd, each shooting two-round 167s. Halseth had an incredible day in the finale, shooting a 79, tied for the fifth best round on Tuesday. Libby Axen finished tied for 29th, going just three more shots than Halseth and Spiller.

The Eagles will get back on the course next week for the last tournament before the Cal Pac Championships. The first round from the San Diego Christian Invitational is scheduled for Monday, March 28.
