Dix, Rodgers Earn Player of the Week Honors For YC Softball
After helping lead the No. 3-ranked Yavapai College softball team to sweeps over Scottsdale and Glendale last week, sophomore pitcher Emily Dix was named ACCAC Pitcher of the Week while sophomore outfielder Kayla Rodgers was named ACCAC Player of the Week the conference office announced on Tuesday.
For Dix, it is her third time this season earning the award while Rodgers has now earned it twice. Overall, for the Roughriders, they have claimed seven ACCAC Player/Pitchers of the Week so far in 2022.

In Dix’s two starts last week, she earned two wins, tossed nine shutout innings, struck out 16 and allowed just three total hits. Overall, Dix has a 10-1 record, 1.86 ERA and 107 strikeouts in 60.1 innings pitched this season.
In Rodgers’ four starts, she went 10-13 with three doubles, four homers, 13 runs scored, 11 RBIs and three walks. Overall, Rodgers is hitting .582 this season with 10 homers, 34 RBIs and 53 runs scored.
The duo and the rest of the Roughriders also swept the No. 10-ranked Central Arizona College Vaqueras on the road on Tuesday and will be back on the softball field on Saturday, March 19, at home against the No. 20-ranked Eastern Arizona College Gila Monsters. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 11 a.m.
