The Town of Chino Valley is pleased to announce the promotion of Cyndi Thomas, from  Community Services Manager to the position of Community Services Director. In this new capacity, Thomas will be responsible to oversee the Senior Center, Recreation and Aquatics as well as the library. Thomas has been with the Town for 17 years and began her tenure as the Senior Services Administrator,  then moved into Community Services as the Assistant Community Services Director, and then the Community Services Manager where she oversaw Recreation, Aquatics, and Senior Services. This new role includes the management of the Town’s library.

While with the Town, she has effectively implemented and provided community programs and solutions to serve the most vulnerable citizens. One of her most recent and notable accomplishments include Director of the Year (2008) of the Northern Arizona Meals on Wheels after finding alternative and creative ideas to continue the vital Program during the recession. With her dedication to the community, Thomas has been instrumental in the Town’s signature event, the Chino Valley Territorial Days, a two-day community event celebrating Chino Valley’s history.

When not working in the Town, Thomas serves as the President of the Chino Valley Unified School District’s Governing Board and consistently provides leadership and guidance in the K-12 school system.

“I am proud to announce this promotion and am thankful for such dedication and leadership among our team. Cyndi has been frequently recognized for her outstanding accomplishments and desire to serve the community of Chino Valley. She will do amazing things in her new role. Please join me in congratulating Cyndi on her promotion and welcoming her as the new Community Services Director,” Cindy Blackmore, town manager said.
