CVHS student tests positive for COVID-19

CHINO VALLEY, AZ- A Chino Valley High School student was feeling ill at school on October 27, 2020. The student’s guardian was contacted and picked up the student, and later informed CVHS staff that the student tested positive for COVID-19.

As a precaution and following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, CVHS staff notified persons who may have come in contact with the student advising them to observe a 14-day quarantine process. This was determined based on seating charts provided by staff and included 28 students and one staff member.

The CVUSD would like to encourage all to observe the CDC guidelines and precautions, including wearing of face coverings when in public, washing hands frequently, and staying home when not feeling well or exhibiting any symptoms of illness.

Current CVHS attendance numbers are as follows:

In person students: 675

Entire student body (including those opting for on-line/distance learning): 735

Entire staff (including support staff): 64

Instructional staff/teachers: 37, with 8 additional paraprofessionals assisting with instruction.
