Congratulations PVPD Officer Corrales As The New SRO

Prescott Valley and HUSD Partner to Provide Additional School Resource Officer

In a joint agreement with the Town of Prescott Valley and the Humboldt Unified School District, the Prescott  Valley Police Department will add an additional School Resource Officer (SRO) to work in the District. Town  Council approved the agreement at its Aug. 4 special meeting.

Officer Isaac Corrales has been selected to fill the additional SRO position. Officer Corrales started with the PVPD  as a patrol officer in 2018. He has assisted and participated in many community outreach events, such as Cops and Kids and the Puente de la Comunidad. 

The duties of a School Resource Officer include school safety and security, educator, counselor, and interacting with faculty and students. Additionally, the SRO is a liaison between school officials, the County Attorney’s  Office, and SROs in other districts. 

Officer Corrales will be primarily working with the middle schools in the district. Officer Mike Myrmel, the current SRO, will continue his responsibilities at Bradshaw Mountain High School.
