Thursday

After the one event at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Wednesday, the Eagles headed over to the Cal State LA Twilight for six events. Both men’s and women’s runners got a chance to showcase on Thursday, and ran well against other good athletes.

Both male runners in the 1500 earned top 15 spots, as Darren Mudge and Alex Service competed well. Mudge was the fastest in his heat with a time of 4:21.20 for fifth, and Service recorded the 13th fastest time at 4:31.37.

On the women’s side of the 1500, all three ERAU athletes recorded top-eight times. Ariana Anderson was just three seconds behind the best time at 4:50.15, while Bones Parker and Kamryn Hoehne finished less than a second apart from each other taking seventh and eighth place, respectively.

Mudge recorded another top five time in an event, this time posting the fourth-best time of the day in the 800 meter. Mudge was one of four runners to finish in under two minutes, crossing at 1:57.85, and was 1.84 seconds away from the fastest time.

Nicholas Hernandez ran the fastest time in the 5000 on Thursday, the only runner to finish in under 15 minutes. Hernandez finished at 14:56.66 while teammates Doutimi FakroghaAustin Lemus and Jacob Block posted top-10 times. In the women’s 5000, Lizzie Simon posted a top-10 time at 19.19.25.

Friday

Eagle runners only participated in the 1500 back at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Friday, but had to wait a long time to get on the track. Embry-Riddle runners had to wait until after 10 p.m. to race, and Makenna Bray posted the 15th fastest time in the section, posting a time of 4:45.69.

Embry-Riddle will get back on the track next when they participate in the inaugural Cal Pac track championships. Day one of the extravaganza is scheduled for Thursday, April 28.
