UPDATE Car/Bicycle Collision Causes Serious Injuries to Teen Cyclist
On April 27, 2022 at approximately 4:14 p.m. a 14-year-old male Prescott Valley resident was riding northbound on Viewpoint Drive near Park View Drive when he made an abrupt turn across traffic into the path of a southbound car. The driver of the vehicle was unable to avoid colliding with the bicyclist.
The cyclist was airlifted by Native Air to Phoenix Children’s Hospital in critical condition. He was not wearing a helmet. The driver of the vehicle, a 22-year-old Prescott Valley resident, was uninjured.
The collision is still under investigation, but neither speed or impairment appear to be a factor.
Police and Fire personnel closed the road south of Park View for approximately 2 ½ hours to allow for treatment and investigation and traffic was re-routed through an adjacent neighborhood.

On Thursday, April 27, 2022, at approximately 4:15 PM, Prescott Valley Police Officers responded to a report of a collision between a vehicle and a bicyclist at the intersection of Park View Drive and Viewpoint Drive in north Prescott Valley. Emergency vehicles and Native Air are still on scene.
The incident is still being investigated and citizens are encouraged to avoid the scene. When further information is available, the public will be notified.
