Mortimer Farms is hiring three scratch cooks to join the Windmill Kitchen team.

From our field to our customer's table, The Windmill Kitchen is all about using ingredients right from the farm. Our goal is to create a unique foodie experience surrounded by growing fields. 

 

Walk up restaurant service is open on each festival day. Each menu item combines simple, healthy, excellent tasting food to be enjoyed in a family-friendly farm-to-table setting.

 

The Windmill Kitchen also prepares fruit pies, pot pies, homemade tortilla chips, kettle corn, bread, dog food, chorizo, flavored cream cheese, cookies in a jar, vinegars, herb and spice jars, soups, and much more for retail sales in the Market & Deli.

 

The Windmill Kitchen team executes all wedding, private event, farm to table dinners, Friday Night Barn Dance, and concert catering. 

 

Lastly, on festival days the Windmill Kitchen also opens satellite locations that offer snacks, hot dogs, crepes, ice cream, bar service, and more. 

 

Job purpose: The main task of this individual is turning fresh ingredients into beautifully plated works of edible art.

This position will also be responsible for the following:

- Follow given recipes and flow between the different cook positions as needed

- Participate as a line cook, prep cook, mass food production, dishes, catering cook, etc.

- Short order meals and quick service without sacrificing the quality of the meal

- being fast-paced, skilled, professional, a team player, and a hard worker

- Execution

- Mass production of products for retail sales and prep

 

Job type and hours:

Full time position or part time 

Weekends and evening required

 

Benefits for full time employees after 90 day probation period:

Health insurance reimbursement - 80% of employee’s premium up to $250.00 per month

Retirement account - after 90-day probation period 3% match

PTO (sick or vacation) is earned an hour for every 30 hours worked up to 40 hours per calendar year
